Q&A
-
What type of lashes do you use? We use synthetic mink made from a material called PBT made by Borboleta. Synthetic lashes keep our product cruelty free and it also gives you a longer-lasting, stronger curl.
-
Do the lashes come in different sizes? Yes, lashes come in a variety of curl, length, and diameters.
-
How do I care for my lashes?
-
Keep Lashes Dry - Avoid getting them wet for the first 24 hours.
-
Try To Sleep On Your Back - It can take about 24 hours for the adhesive to fully dry and set, so try to sleep on your back for the first night after getting your lash extensions done or filled. This will avoid any weird kinks or some of your extensions from coming off while you sleep.
-
No Mascara - Your lashes should look so amazing that you shouldn’t need to wear mascara anymore! Mascara can be hard to remove, especially waterproof mascara, making it hard on your lashes. Mascara also clumps the lashes together and it becomes almost impossible to get it off without pulling out several of your extensions.
-
Hands Off Your Lashes - Resist the urge to touch your lashes and do not rub, pick, or pull at them to avoid damage to your natural lashes.
-
Avoid Oil-Based Products - Oil-based products break down the adhesive and shorten the life of your lash extensions. To remove makeup, use makeup remover wipes as opposed to cotton balls or pads as they tend to stick to the lashes. We suggest our lash cleanser for the best maintenance of your lashes in between your fill appointments.
-
Keep that fluffy lash line squeaky clean! When you clean your lashes regularly, you are helping to keep your natural oils at bay. Cleansing regularly also helps prevent premature lash shedding. Cleanse your lashes daily with a gentle, lash extension-friendly cleanser and make sure it’s oil- and alcohol-free! We recommend Borboleta's gentle foam or gel cleanser. If these guidelines are not followed, it’s not uncommon for us to see guests with severe build-up of makeup residue, oil and/or dead skin cells along their lash lines. This is not only unhygienic, but it can also cut into your appointment time because your lash artist must make sure they’re squeaky clean before performing your fill.
-
THE SCARY TRUTH: When you skip your daily lash wash, your lash follicles can get clogged with oil, dirt, and debris, which can make it difficult for new lashes to grow.
-
Brush Your Lashes Daily! No one wants a messy lash line. To take care of your eyelash extensions, brush your lashes daily to prevent crisscrossing. A simple 15–20 second sweep through your lashes in the morning will put stray lashes in their place. Simply close one eye, place the wand on top of your lashes, then roll the wand over your lashes to keep them defined and fabulous. Make sure you’re gentle when brushing.
-
Use A Sealer - A great eyelash sealer will help strengthen the bond between your natural lashes and the eyelash extensions. Borboleta's Sealant has patented Keratin technology that binds and plumps lashes from the inside out. You’ll see stronger, more flexible, curled extensions that look better longer. Borboleta's Sealant also helps to keep your lashes in place after brushing.

Can I wear makeup for my lash appointment? No, wearing makeup is not recommended. Makeup can prevent the bond from properly adhering the lash extension to the natural lash. This can cause premature separation.
